Elevator outfit #3

This is my favorite skirt these days. Bought in some cute Japanese store in Machida that I can't remember the name of.

This headband is also a new favorite, bought in Forever 21. That shop is dangerous to go into when you're trying not to spend money!

The wonders of good headphones..

I really like Kid Cudi and have listened A LOT to his album Man on the Moon, but always just in my crappy computer speakers. I was really surprised when I listened to it for the first time in actually good headphones the other day and this song is absolutely a whole different song in headphones. You have to listen.

And yeah if you haven't got good headphones, buy Sennheiser. Absolutely love mine. I have one studio quality headphones and others to walk around with ( both big and closed though) and they seriously make all music better. They're definitely worth the price.

And no, Sennheiser did not pay me to write this!

Halloween party

Went to a Halloween party yesterday and wanted to wear some sweet costume that didn't cost a fortune.

How to make your own Princess Leia costume: I went to a second hand shop, bought white maxi skirt, white turtle neck and a silver belt. Easy. Then created the Leia hairstyle and that was so annoyingly hard! I was almost going to give up. But i finally managed with the help of socks, billion hairpins and hairspray.

See! Cool costumes don't have to cost a fortune!

Elevator outfit #2

My new favorite safari animal jumpsuit. Bought in a second hand shop in Machida that was so crazy well organized and filled with such nice and new looking vintage clothes that I didn't realize it was a vintage shop until after a while browsing through. Haha. I think that's something you could only find in Japan.

If you are only gonna listen to one song today...

then listen to this song.
Sorry how little I've blogged. My mind has been all over the place for the last few weeks and I tend to forget a lot of things now. It's annoying.
I'll remember to post here more often.

Dai So - 100 yen shop

...is definitely one of my favorite shops in Japan. Everything 105 yen. Which is in a way kind of stupid if it's called a 100 yen shop, but whatever. I bought these totally awesome watches there.
And no, I don't normally wear them both at the same time. I'm not that weird.

P.S. This photo is taken with my new Macbook Pro. Luvs it!

I've had this song on my mind since I heard it a few days ago.

New favorite sweater

I found this one in a small second hand store close to my dorm. 300 yen or about 4 $.
Love it!

(Yeah...I don't have a full length mirror in my dorm so the elevator has to do the deed!)

Inspiration

Well, as you probably all know, Steve Jobs died today.
I'm a big fan of Apple and have been ever since I  remember. We had an really old school Apple computer that I played computer games on as a child and I remember staring at the the rainbow Apple logo thinking how cool this machine was.

I'm not going to convince you to like Apple, I couldn't care less. I'm not going to write a blog about Steve Jobs.

I'm only going to tell  you to spend 15 minutes to watch this video. It doesn't have much to do with computers. Even if you don't like this man, watch this video and then see what you think.

I had never heard this speech until today and I'm so glad that I heard it exactly today.
I love inspiration, wherever it comes from, and I can truly say that this speech inspired me and reminded me of the things that really are important.

Most of these things are things we're told over and over again, but the way he puts it is so powerful.
This speech was exactly the kick that I needed today.

“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
