Photo challenge day 13 - Written words
I'm reading a book these days. Written words. In a book. The book is called "The picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde.
I just started reading it and haven't gotten that far but I absolutely love it so far. So many memorable quotes from it so I decided to write one of my favorite one for this days theme.
"Ah! realize your youth while you have it. Don't squander the gold of your days, listening to the tedious, trying to improve the hopeless failure, or giving away your life to the ignorant, the common, and the vulgar. These are the sickly aims, the false ideals, of our age. Live! Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for new sensations. Be afraid of nothing. "
Love it!

Photo challenge day 11 - Something old
Today's theme was something old. I decided to find an old photograph of me from when I was living in USA with my family and i thought it was a lovely contrast to have me this photo of me, a lake and autumn trees - just as were in the picture as I had in the last post.
I obviously loved pink there as well. I haven't changed a bit!

Photo challenge day 9 - Inspiring person
This one is hard. There are many inspiring persons out there and picking one is hard. But I decided to pick her.
I've been listening to her since I was a little girl. I remember when my parents bought Homogenic and I sat in the car on the way home totally hypnotized by the album cover and couldn't wait
to listen to this album because I had loved her other albums.
Yoga became right away one of my favorite songs and has been since.
I also love the fact how she is so truly original in everything she does. That is really inspirational.
For example her new Biophilia project. That is just so cool and far away from anything other artist have done up til now.

Photo challenge day 5 and 6
Todays theme - Books
Well this is the book that i was using today. My kanji book. I like kanjis. There is something calming about sitting, writing kanjis, listening to good music and drinking coffee.
So I was studying for this test tomorrow and I finally learned how to write "singer". I guess that's kind of relevant.
歌手
I'm one day behind because yesterday, when I was supposed to photograph morning sky I forgot. And I forgot again today.
But instead I'll just post a totally unrelated picture that continues the elevator series. Here featured is my new favorite item, this white beauty that keeps me warm when Japan is getting cold.

Photo challenge day 4 - Leaves
Ok, to tell the truth, this photo is one week old. But it fitted perfectly to todays theme.
This photo is not just taken at some random place. It's taken in one of the creepiest place I've been to. The Aokigahara forest, which is famous as being the most popular place for people to commit suicide in Japan. Second most popular in the world after the Golden Gate bridge. It's eerily quiet in there and really easy to get lost. Compasses don't work there because of high iron altitude.
We went there with our Folklore teacher last week because we were learning about the folklore surrounding Mt. Fuji. Actually half of our group got lost there and it was kind of scary because naturally - just to add to the creepiness, our phones did not work in the forest! But they found their way out.
I tried to take loads of pictures but some how I thought that I couldn't capture the ice cold, scary feeling of the forest.
In the forest there are many hand made signs telling you to think about your family and suicide is not the right way. When I saw these leaves that had formed this little pretty flower, I kind of got the feeling that this was nature telling you that life is too beautiful to do this to yourself...
if you want to read more about Aokigahara, read this.

Photo challenge day 3 - Happiness
Today's happiness includes my new vice - black ice coffee (yeah I have to take back my words that cold coffee sucks, Japan's got me hooked!), plus a sandwich at my favorite coffee place in the neighbourhood. Thinking about last night makes me happy. Even though I'm trying to study at the same time.
Went to Eberg, Casiokids, Reptile and Retard and LCMDF in Shibuya. Met a bunch of new and awesome people, went out for really good food afterwards and came home very late, but it was so much fun!
